| Eric & Scott,
Wanted to report that the board's performance was fantastic in 2'-8' Playa Negra. The waves were a little mushy after the drop so the down-the-line characteristics were hard to fully judge, but I loved the feel of the board. I'm looking forward to more lined up opportunities to truly test her capabilities. The reaction on the beach when I opened my board bag was cool.
Everybody was stoked at the shape, and guys my age (50's) were very nostalgic. The workmanship was really complimented. You would have thought I pulled a naked chick out of the bag the way some guys responded.Matter of fact I think they preferred seeing the board to a naked chick. Now that I give it some thought, most of the chicks on the beach were half naked anyway. A surfer's life is tough-but somebody has to do it.
More later,

Took the new board out today for it's maiden voyage up at malibu. I really think that if eveyone in the world could feel the way I felt when I wrapped my five toes around the nose after knee paddeling into that first wave just once, there would be no wars and no problems, people would just get "it". thanks for the board, it's super smooth and it totally dig it. when I get around to it i'll take some pictures of what I've been working on with the clay and some of my boards if you'd like to see it. take care down in p.r.

Dear Eric & Scott,
After unveiling and testing out my 5'8 wingpin you guys made me, I couldn't be more stoked with the look, workmanship, and sheer performance of the board! People came up to me complimenting and reminiscing on how it looked like something "right out of 1978". I took it out in waist to chest Del Mar surf, but pretty glassy and powerful for its size. This being a "retro" style board I was expecting something like that would have limitations, knowing how you don't change anything to modernize the design of your shapes from when they were originally made in their prime. Just bottom turning gave me an idea on the board's big-wave potential, how it effortlessly shot up the face with so much force and power. I'll look forward to testing out its capabilites in bigger, better surf this winter.
Thanks,
Colin

Thanks Scott,
You saved me from buying an off-the-shelf board that would have no doubt been too small for my 6'5", 215lbs frame. I about choked when you recommended the 6'2", 23.25", 3.23", and I was worried I'd have too much foam right up until that first take off the night I picked up the board. So smooth, so fast, so fricking natural - the board's perfect. From glassy morning Cardiff to overhead Sunset Cliffs, the board has that magical glide that you promised. It's the stick I'm always grabbing for first, hoping that the conditions are right to ride it.
As I was heading back out of the water in OB, I passed an old-timer on the beach who turned to his buddy and said, "See that? Now that is fish. Beautiful..." Thankful to everyone at Free Spirit Surfboards,
Ben
